 Ohio is Finally Cold

Another week here in the Buckeye state! Its crazy how fast time flies by. I am half way through my first transfer (a transfer is every 6 weeks and there is always the possibility that some missionaries will move to a different area of the mission or stay in their current place).

Here's how this week went...

MONDAY: It's pday! My companion took me to a Chinese restaurant because I was feeling home sick. As much as I didn't want to admit it and didn't think that I would feel home sick i knew that I was and going to a Chinese restaurant really helped cause Chinese food was something that my family would often cook. Later that day I talked with my siblings and then took a nap cause that was very much needed! Haha.

TUESDAY: After personal study we went to teach 2 Hispanic families, so anytime we go over we have to bring a translator. I wish I learned Spanish from you dad haha. It's so cool to see that even though it's hard to understand each other because of the language barrier we were still able to feel the spirit strongly. One special experience was having the chance to meet Maria! She blows me away with her faith in God! She isn't a member but her love for God has blessed her and her family immensely! She is fighting a tough battle against cancer but still thanks God everyday for life and all that she has. She doesn't know it but she has humbled me. I have been so blessed to have the life that I have. She has fought for everything she has, whether that be temporal items or spiritual blessings. My gratitude for the blessings I have, have increase so much! I will never forget that experience! As we are teaching her, I couldn't wait for the day when she is Baptized because that means she is one step even closer to God and her Savior.

We also are teaching a family from Myanmar and it's so cool to hear them speak their language cause I have never heard of it before! Again with the language barrier it's hard to teach them because no one and I mean no one knows how to speak the language.  However we had a miracle happen! The family's cousin moved in town and he can speak both English and their language! It was amazing! The little boy named David had such a passion to learn and helped us translate to his mom. They showed great progress but I wasn't sure if they were going to be baptized due to the language barrier.

WEDNESDAY: Zone Conference happened and it was fun! They showed us the new material for #lighttheworld (Light the World)! This year they are doing something so cool! They are having people text a number and that will register them to get daily text reminders of what they can do for service that day. I encourage all to register when the time comes. I can't wait for Light the World campaign to start!

Trunk or Treat activity happened later that day in the evening. Although it was raining we were still able to have a party inside the building. Fun? Yes, but so many kids! My companion and I were stuck to the wall most of the time haha. Our investigators came and they had a blast.

THURSDAY: Most of this day was tracking, which means to go door to door telling people about the Chruch and what we do as missionaries. We were able to find 4 new people which is awesome! I can't wait to meet with them again. I know this sounds weird but it doesn't bother me when people slam their doors in my face. I just know that they aren't rejecting me they are simply rejecting God. It's sad and I want them to have what we have but they simply don't want it. They day started off at 57° and then it dropped 20°! It went from 57° to 37° in a matter of a couple of hours. With wind speeds of 15mph!  It finally hit the 30s! YAY! I was stoked! By the time we got back in our car to go back I couldn't move my left hand and feet because they were frozen and in pain. I would do it again for the Lord.

FRIDAY: This day was exciting cause we went over the Baptismal interview questions with James and he was so ready and excited! He will be baptized this Saturday on the 9th! So excited for him! He has made so many friends in the ward that he will fit right in!

Since it was cold I thought I would wear a turtleneck. I haven't worn one of those in a decade! It's back in style, so I'm willing to wear it haha.

SATURDAY: James had his Baptismal interview and might I say it went well! He was beaming with light! He could stop talking about how much he is going to love being in the fold of Christ's church. I am so excited for him! I can't wait to see what he does for the ward because surprisingly he is really good with youth.

Well friends and fam that's it for my letter! So long til next Monday! I will try to share more photos next week. I hope you all are well and had a great Halloween! I love you all!
