Aug 10-16, 2019:
Saturday- Spent a couple of hours helping to go through Grandma and Grandpa things/ their history. It's so fun looking through their history because I learn more about them and what they did during their time or way back then. I especially loved looking at the pictures!! Wow, my Grandpa beach was such a cowboy and he loved writing a lot. He was also a school principal. I think it's pretty neat to learn about their history. We got to celebrate my sister, Rachel's birthday. I gave her a bag of Oreos; that had 20 Oreos and earrings from Yuxin. She got a water bottle (the brand of water bottle that she got was called bubba) and fancy perfume. I can't believe my sister turned 20!! It's crazy because she is not a teenager anymore. We also celebrated her birthday by having a chocolate cake and ice cream.
Sunday- Went to church. Taught the nursery kids. I just enjoy teaching those kids!! They are super funny!! I taught them about when they turn eight; they are baptized by immersion (meaning that they go all the way under the water). That they will receive the holy ghost, after they are confirmed (laying of the hands) and have that companionship of him; if and only if they keep the commandments. I also explained to them that when we are baptized, our sins are washed away and we become clean/ a new creature. In the afternoon, I helped my mom move some boxes, over to the other side of the room. Also helped them go through more of Grandma and Grandpa.
Monday- In the morning, I cleaned a room and a bathroom for Bonnie (Grandpa beaches first cousin). I helped clean up the family room and did the dishes before Bonnie came over. Bonnie came to help my aunt and my mom go through the old pictures.
Tuesday- In the morning, Rachel and I went to meet up with the wolf's (Emily and her husband; they are members) to settle in with their dog (Gunner; boy) before they left. We are going to be watching Gunner this week until Sunday, plus staying over at their house. Afterward, I played fetch with him; threw his toys, and ran around with him. He is such a sweetheart and wants lots of attention since he is still a puppy/ a big golden retriever. Later in the afternoon, I played fetch with him more. That was so much fun!! Got a lot of exercise in. Then for dinner Rachel and I decided to make some rice to go along with some chicken; that was in a bag in the freezer. Let me tell you, that was so delicious!! The next thing was, me doing the dishes.
Wednesday- Went to a district meeting. In the district meeting, each of us; including me, shared our testimonies. There were some awesome testimonies shared. We also answered some questions. The reason why we shared our testimonies, is because three missionaries in our district are leaving to go to a different area. It was also the last district meeting for them. It's so sad that they are going to be leaving us. I call the district "my family" because we work together as a team and support each other, to teach the gospel/ serve other people. We will definitely miss the three missionaries, but I know they will be awesome missionaries in another area; that they've been assigned to and do great work. We then went to lunch at Sam's club and we saw president Gaulden and sister Gaulden there. It's pretty sweet we saw them. After that, we went to work at the Cobblestone Farm. Our job was to pick peppers again. Since it was soooooo hot and we worked so hard, the sisters from a different ward decided to have a little fun and brought water guns. So, we sprayed each other. I have to say, that was soooooo much!!!! Since we were finished and our time was up, some of us sisters went to Kum & go and got slushes; the best thing ever. It's like the best tradition that we do after we are done working at Cobblestone. Got my slushy and Rachel picked me up; headed back to the wolf's house. When I got home, I rested for a little. Then I played more fetch with him. I also tried this cool ball: can be blown up like a beach ball, had three holes ( that had a spot for the hose to attach to) to act like sprinklers, it had another spot for the hose and this one was to fill a bag inside the ball so that it can sit on the ground, while the sprinklers are going off on the three sides. I have to say, it's a pretty slick toy for dogs and even kids. For dinner, each of us had one hot pocket and had a salad on the side (that we made by ourselves).
Thursday- Got up, did my personal study. Took care of Gunner and played with him outside. I got the plastic kid pool out and filled it up for Gunner. He loved it so much; he would just sit in there. Let me tell, Gunner is such a goofball!! Next, the sisters, Faleafa and Pierce, invited Rachel and I to come to do service at the public library at around like 1:30 pm. At the library, we were divided into groups, I was with the water the plants’ group with sisters Pierce and Johnson. While Sister Pierce was watering the plants, Sister Johnson and I were in charge of weeding a bed. The other group was helping with other things, like moving things. What's funny is after sister Pierce was done watering the plants, it started raining. So that was fun!! I just love and enjoy doing service for other people; it just makes me feel good inside and that I'm actually helping those people. It just makes people happy, when we do service for them. When we were done Rachel and I headed back. The next thing we did is we took Gunner to a dog park (IAMS dog park). We put Gunner with the big dogs. Rachel and I would just watch Gunner play with the other big dogs. I just love to watch the dogs play together and see the different personalities in each of the dogs. Gunner had a blast there!!!! They even had a little obstacle course. I tried to see if Gunner would do the obstacle, but it failed; I guess he wasn't interested. He was more interested in smelling the grass. I think it would be amazing to work on training dogs to go through the obstacles that are set up for them. I would have a blast doing that!!!
Friday- Played more with Gunner. Took a break and studied for my permit. In the afternoon we took Gunner to the dog park. Got back and he was panting so much because he was running around with other dogs there.
