Aug 17-23:
Saturday- Rachel and I went back home in the morning, to help my mom and dad pull weeds in the front of our house. It was hard work, but it was worth it. Then we went back to the Wolf's house. Later in the afternoon, we celebrated Luke's and Bethany's go away party, since they were leaving Sunday after church to go back to Utah. Bethany and Luke are the ones that had the idea to do different games and chose the teams. We did a book balancing contest, throwing M&M's of the ledge in the house, thumb wars, etc. I was on the team called Yaller's and we tied for third place with another team. There were four teams. I had so much funnnnn!!!! Afterward, Rachel and I headed back. We got back around 9:00 pm. Let Gunner out. So, while he was outside, he decided to beat up and mess with a cicada, to the point where the cicada couldn't fly anymore. Then.... he eats the cicada!! Crazy and gross at the same time, rightttt!!! Poor cicada, he lived a good life, but it was hilarious to watch. He just cracks me up so much!!!!
Sunday- We picked up the two mission missionaries (Sister Pierce and Faleafa) to go pick up a person they were teaching, but unfortunately the person didn't come to the door. FYI our church starts at 9:00 am. Taught the nursery kiddos obedience. That it's important to obey their parents; by doing this the parents will be happy with them. Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father want us to obey our parents. Then, we dropped the sisters off at their apartment. Hurried home to eat lunch with Luke and Bethany Orison and say goodbye to them. It was so sad when they left us. Loved having them here for the summer. They were so fun to be around!! In the family home evening, we talked about how we shouldn't let the natural man get in our way, while we are doing great deeds or great works. Yes, there are some things out in the world that look amazing, cool, and cute, but is it more important than Jesus Christ? The answer is no, Jesus Christ is more important than the riches in the world. That, yes, we do have to sacrifice some things. For example, for women, we have to take longer to look for modest clothes and a little bit more expensive. I had an experience with the holy ghost... While Rachel and I were driving back to the Wolf's; we were listing to church music; during the drive, it started to rain hard, especially on the highway and it was lighting, but by having that music on, I just felt the peace and calmness from the holy ghost, that we were going to be safe. The holy ghost is just so powerful!! So, we arrived at their house safe and sound. That is the blessing we received, just by having the holy ghost with us and all the time. At 3:30 pm, Gunner's parents came home. He was so excited to see them!! I figured out that during my stay with him, he hates mirrors and the fans that stand. Whenever he gets close to these, he has this scary face expression on him, like these two things are haunting him. He was sooo adorable when he made that expression. We then left to go home. I'm going to miss Gunner.
Monday- Went to help my Aunt clean houses. Cleaned 3 houses together. Started around 8:30 am, ended at 6:10 pm-ish. My Aunt called it a day/ we were both really hungry, so she took me to Firehouse subs and we each got a 12-inch sandwich. The only thing we ate for the whole day was our snacks. I have never been to Firehouse subs before. Let me tell you guys, my sandwich was sooo delicious!!!
Tuesday- Took a girl’s trip to the Oklahoma temple. Left at 7:10 am. We did endowments and ceilings. I just enjoy going to the temple and feeling the peace there. It's such a neat experience. After we were done, we went to Canes for lunch. That place is the best, especially their sauce.
Wednesday- Didn't do a lot. I helped my mom and Aunt with some things (sorting and putting old pictures of my Grandma and Grandpa in plastic sleeves). Unloaded the dishwasher. Played with my dog, Louie. Talked to Aunt Carla and kept her company by sitting by her; watching a movie. Studied for my permit.
Thursday- Started the morning, finishing up helping Roland and Aunt Carla load their things in the trailer and their car. They are driving back to Mesa, Arizona; their home. We are sure going to miss them, especially me the most. They stayed here for 2 and a half months. It was fun when they were here!!! I had some great memories with them. They had a dog named Daisy (she was tiny). At the very beginning, she didn't know me and it took her awhile to get used to me. When she got used to me, she started to become my friend; she would follow me around, I would take her out, she would get so excited; that she would jump up on me. I loved her so much. Afterward, I helped my Aunt and my mom carry some packages to the post office. Then Rachel took me to the permit place. We arrived there at 1:14 pm and guess what happened... Nobody was there!!! Not even the police people. It was strange because the website specifically said that it’s open at 1:00 pm. It was disappointing, but hey!! That's okay, there are other days. My dad even gave me a priesthood blessing last night, so I could do great on the permit test. Hopefully, I can try again tomorrow. It's always good to not give up and keep trying.
Friday- This morning my mom assigned the 4 adults at home (which are me, Alex, Rachel, and Joseph) to pick a cleaning job to do. So, me being the first one to come, I got to pick first. They were listed on the fridge. My job was to do Mudroom & Bath(bathroom)& Laundry Room. The rest of the day, chilled, watched a Hallmark movie with my mom and helped her organize a few things.
