SISTER REBECCA RICHARDSON MISSION JOURNAL #6 -- Aug 31- Sept 6, 2019

 Aug 31- Sept 6, 2019:

Sat: My friend and I got up to head to the YSA combined activity (two stakes combined) at the prairie creek swimming area in Rogers. We were the first people there, so we got to be the first ones to eat cereal for breakfast. There were not a lot of YSA people there, then I thought there was. I thought there was going to be a lot more, but nope. Some people went swimming in the lake/creek and the other people just watched; like me and my sister, Rachel. I enjoyed watching people swim. I also was thinking, while sitting there looking at nature, that it's so awesome and outstanding how Heavenly Father made this beautiful world, with the help of Adam and Eve (our parents). We wouldn't be on this Earth if it wasn't for Heavenly Father plus Adam and Eve. Then we had lunch and for lunch we had: chips, bananas, grapes, hot dogs, and water. After, my friend dropped me off at my house. Got home around 12ish. I had to do my chores fast, that my parents assigned to me plus get myself cleaned up, so I could go with my friend again around 2:30 pm. She picked me up, we headed to the clothesline fair in Prairie Grove. While there, we went to go see her two nieces perform and we walked around to see stands/stations that were filled with different items. We then headed back to her car and she drove back to my house, to drop me off. It was such a long day and we were both tired, but I indeed had fun doing things with my friend.

Sun: My sister taught the lesson in nursery. She taught about the creation. What was so cute and adorable, was when we gathered the one-three-year-old kids to hold on to the rope, so we can go outside. Just watching them, holding on to the rope; walking in a line, that was the cutest thing ever. Just before nursery, there was a sacrament meeting. In the sacrament meeting, people gave amazing testimonies, especially my sister; who is getting close to leaving on her mission. She talked about how temples are just so amazing and wonderful!! You can just go in there and just feel that awesome peace inside your heart. She also said that you learn so many awesome things there. She did so great sharing her testimony!!! In FHE, we talked about our different body parts and how those body parts are in charge of different things, but those body parts work together, so our body can function well. This relates to us because even though we might have different personalities or opinions, we can come together and work as a team.

Mon: Got up at around 7:00 am and started deep cleaning my bedroom plus taking the rest of my things out. My aunt and my mom were doing inspections at 9 am, so I had to make sure it was cleaned well. I think I did pretty well, I have to say so myself. After, I carried my things from the basement- upstairs to second the second floor or second level. Man!!! I have to say, that was such a workout!! At least I got some good exercise, just by going up and down the stairs. After I did that, I unpacked a few things, but not a lot, since I'm going to be moving rooms again, somewhere in December to the third floor. At least we only have three floors. My sister, Rachel, is also sharing the room with me until she leaves on her mission, Sept the 23. I'm going to miss my sister dearly when she goes off. We have this Queen bed that we're also sharing, but what's cool, is when I switch rooms in December, I get to have another queen bed. It's going to be so nice. I can't wait!!!

Tues: My Aunt and I cleaned two houses. My mom and dad own 5 houses in the Joyce Cottages by modern mission. They rent those out for other people that book it.

Wed: I went with the missionaries to the district meeting. We talked about how having the Holy Ghost in us or with us, can help us know what to say when we are teaching other people. Through the help of the holy ghost, you will have that inspiration to know what to say.  We got to have a chance to hear from a sister that went on her mission and hear her experiences from her mission (her name was Katy Mayberry); talking about how just having the holy ghost with her helped her a lot. She shared a sentence from Preach My Gospel and this is what it was: "You have been promised inspiration to know what to do and have been given the power to do it."
After, we had lunch at the institute with other people. When we were finished, we headed to Cobblestone farm to do work. Some missionaries did digging on the side, some poked holes in the tarp, so the other missionaries, including me, could put the baby plants in the holes. Guys, guess what, today I did something brave; I caught a hen; I have never caught one before. At first, I was hesitant about catching one, but then I was like I'm going for it and I caught one. This was on the farm; they had a hen/chicken coop, but there were no roosters in there and we were catching them for fun, just for a break.

Thurs: Rachel and I went to the public library, to meet the other missionaries. Us missionaries helped out with all sorts of things there. For example, sister Tufuna and I were in charge of polishing the wood. What's funny is when Sister Tufuna had to reach the high spots, since I'm short. When we got downstairs, it was much better; I could actually reach the sides of the bookshelves.

Fri: We went girls shopping today to three different places: big Walmart, Old Navy, and mall. For lunch, we went to noodles. That place is so delicious!! Never been there. Then I came home around 3ish pm. At 4:45 pm, Rachel and I left, to go to the sister missionary’s apartment, to eat Eureka pizza. The kind of pizza we got is the chicken bacon ranch. It was so tasty and yummy!!

Look at us missionaries working hard. I am the one sitting down, putting a plant in the poked holes.
