Aug 24-30, 2019:
Saturday- In the morning, I pulled weeds in a flower bed that was inside the pool area. Next, I got to go out with my friend Jade and do some things; we went to Plato's closet, went to the mall to get her nails done, and went to subway. I got myself a 6-inch flatbread with this shredded chicken on it and other things; knowing me I like to be cheap on food. Then we went back to my house for a little bit. We then headed to a YSA sisters party at someone's house. There we had food, a devotional from Heather Wagstaff, and swimming. Some girls left after the devotional, so there were Rachel, myself, and two YSA sister’s, who were swimming. Heather Wagstaff gave an awesome devotional. She talked about how we need to fill feelings and not ignore them. We talked about how amazing our brain is. A few things I learned from her: The #1 Job for our brain is to keep us alive (#1 Job= Keep Alive). " The eye will see what the brain is looking for." "Worry pretends to be necessary." I love this quote from Russel M. Nelson that she shared with us girls; it says, "The Joy We Feel Had Little To Do With The Circumstances(facts)Of Our Lives And Everything To Do With The Focus Of Our Lives." This is such a great quote because it's talking about if we think positive, instead of thinking negative, then we will feel the joy in ourselves or just feel the Joy. By thinking positive thoughts, then the results will turn to a blessing or it will turn into a good thing. The model of the brain goes like this: circumstances, thoughts, feelings, actions, and results. So, the results go with thoughts; think negative thoughts- the results won't turn out that great. On the other hand, think positive thoughts- the results will turn out well.Sunday- The priesthood took over Nursery and I think primary too, so all the women could come to and learn more about the family search/ how to log in and do indexing. Also, to learn how to create memories. The person who taught the Family Search one was an old gentleman (Karl Smith) and the person who taught the family memories one, was a lady (Sister Aldridge). Afterward, my friend and I went to the YSA ward for the potluck. There were a lot of people there, some came from other countries to do the U of A here.
Monday- I helped my mom bring in groceries; emptied and loaded the dishwasher. Since we are going to be moving rooms soon, I'm starting to put my things in buckets. I will surely miss my quiet room, but change is good because you can get a fresh start. I studied for my permit.
Tuesday- This morning, my sister Rachel, took me to my orthodontist appointment. Then she took me to take my permit test/written test. Before I went in, I said three prayers; asking Heavenly Father to help me stay calm, during the test and it worked; I passed. Also, my dad gave me a priesthood blessing last Thursday. So that helped me a lot and studying too. I can't believe it!! When I saw the word passed on the computer; I literally got so excited, I jumped with joy. I was just so proud of myself because I have taken it several times. I/my eyes just couldn't believe it!!!! Now I can start driving!!! I plan to start with a scooter, ride it, plus practice driving a car. My goal is to get my driver's license before this year ends, or my birthday. It all depends if I'm comfortable and ready for it. When I got home, I said thanks to Heavenly Father for helping me. The best part was, it was in a bigger building. So, they moved to a new location down in Lowell, AR. They used to be in Springdale, AR, but now they are not. Today is my younger sister, Bethany's birthday. I can't believe she is 19 years old. It's crazy!!! Bethany is such a nice and sweet sister to be around. I just love having her around and she comes up with the best game ideas. Happy b-day, my dear sister. I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!
Wednesday- Went with the sisters to district council this morning. Loved it and I just enjoy being there at district meetings. They make it fun. We got to play a get to know you game since there were some new missionaries. We are now a little bit bigger district because two sister missionaries joined us from a different area (Springdale). After we joined the Institute lunch. The lunch was so delicious, especially the bread. All of us missionaries headed out to work at the Cobblestone Farm. When we got there, we were split into two groups. The first group picked peppers. The second group, which I was in, got to do the prep work; to get it all ready, so they can plant the plants. My job was to plow the dirt using a tool and making sure that I'm digging deep enough, so the tarp that goes over the dirt can stay in place/ putting dirt on the tarp. Man, I was sweating soo much!! This shows that I was working hard. My back might be sore tomorrow because I was bending while plowing. When I was plowing the dirt, I felt one of those people back in the days when they didn't have machines/ tractors.
Thursday- Rachel and I went to go help at the public library, with the other missionaries. Us sister missionaries plus my sister were assigned different tasks to do. The first task I did was drying and putting away the dishes, with the other two sisters plus my sister. The second task, washing the windows with a sister missionary; we were both working together. The third task, dusting the bookshelves. It's so nice being inside because it's not hot.
Friday- Spent the morning cleaning my room/ getting rid of some of my bathroom things. I got it cleaned because a friend is spending the night with me and so we both can go together to the YSA activity tomorrow. It's going to be a fun activity. Can't wait!!!
