ELDER JOSEPH RICHARDSON - August 23, 2016 - Week 52: So many doors to knock, so little time

Hello everyone!

This has been a crazy week, lots of finding, lots of people.

On Wednesday, we did so much finding, it was crazy. We had dinner with the Bowers, a family in which the mother is a recent convert. We got to talk with her kids a little, who are unbaptized. We hope to be able to teach them at some point. That day, we got a brand new missionary in the house, Elder Christiansen. He's pretty cool, and plays basketball, so Elder Dill and Elder Shaffer were ecstatic! Elder Shaffer will be training him these next 12 weeks.
Thursday, we did our weekly planning and visited more people. We had coordination meetings with two of our wards in the evening, but that was about it. It was really stark how different a good and a bad coordination meeting can be.

On Friday, we went to a former investigators house and found out that he died about a year ago. It was kind of funny the way the new resident told us. He just plain out said: "I think he died..." We had a good district meeting, and practice taught using the "How to Begin Teaching" section of Preach My Gospel. That evening, we visited with Irene again. She is a strange old woman who talks a lot! We were there for awhile, but we got an appointment for this next week!

Saturday morning, we got up early to help Rhett with his truck before it got hot, but he forgot, so it didn't happen. He did come out and talk to us at 6am though. The rest of Saturday was another big finding day. We went by so many people, but not too many answered. We did have a good talk with Cesar though, who we were teaching a few months ago. He is still recovering from surgery, so he is kind of out of things until September. We'll dunk him yet! :P

Sunday was pretty cool. We finally had someone at church. Rhett and his wife and daughter came to sacrament meeting, but left a little early. It was still good to have them there though.

That was the bulk of what happened this week. Sorry, it wasn't too interesting. We have been playing a lot of Monopoly Deal recently, almost every night. It's a super fun and crazy game with 4 missionaries playing. I'm getting better at writing in my journal, but then I forgot to bring it to the church to email..... Whoops!

Keep Hauling That Water,
Elder Joseph Richardson

P.S. I got a camel hat from Elder Dennis, who just went home, to take a picture with on my "hump" day.

We have gotten two "monsoons" in the past few days. They're kind of unimpressive because we get similar weather all year round in Arkansas.
