Hello everyone,
This week was full of highs and lows. We've gotten a bunch of new
investigators recently, but one by one, they've all mostly dropped off
this week. :(
But the week was still fun! :)
As I said before, Elder Holland was supposed to come to our mission
this week. We were to meet with him on Thursday, but unfortunately his
plane got delayed so we got to hear from Elder Lynn G Robbins instead.
He gave a great talk about taking responsibility for what happens in
our lives. A key quote was "when we blame others, we lose control of
positive outcomes in our lives".
After that meeting, I had an Elder tell me that someone outside was
asking about an Elder Richardson. I went outside and was surprised to
see Grandma Richardson and Uncle Ray outside lined up for the Single
Adult Fireside that was starting soon. Before I really knew what was
going on, Grandma had me taking pictures with Uncle Ray. In my
defense, they didn't come looking for me, they were there for a
legitimate reason. :P
During one of our dinner appointments this week, the members were
talking about their chickens. Turns out, Elder Leavitt is a bit of an
expert on chickens! We got to go out and see their chicken coop and
the 6 chickens that live in heir tiny backyard. It was cool, and I got
to pick one up! On a weird note, I learned how to measure laying
ability by measuring a chicken's rear end.... It's called a vent.
Weird :P
Elder Leavitt and I went to the mission office last night so he could
present some stuff he's been working on for President Griffin. It was
pretty cool, and I got to help explain his presentation on tracking
Effectiveness in our work.
That's about it for now. Be sure to send me some questions, cuz I can
explain more, but I'm short on time......
Keep Hauling that water,
Elder Joseph Richardson
