Hello everyone!
This week has been long and crazy, but things are going good.
We went on exchanges on Tuesday, and I was with an Elder Bradshaw. We
got to go to the Debbie Pucci's house. A few weeks back, before
thanksgiving, we mentioned that it would be fun to help her decorate
her Christmas tree, so we got to come do that in addition to teaching
Tom a lesson.
On Wednesday, Elder Hedrick had a meeting to prepare for Zone meeting.
Elder Ingham and I went to some service while he and Elder Dill stayed
at the meeting. We ended up helping to cut out cardboard scenery for
the local Middle School's version of "The Lion King". It was fun, and
we got to watch them rehearse as we worked.
Thursday was kinda boring. We did our weekly planning, which took
literally 4 hours as I had to give Elder Hedrick a rundown on the
area. However, we got to go out and visit a bunch of people. We went
to the Grendell's and had to wait awhile for Sister Grendell to get
home. While we waited, we got to play with their puppies. I had fun
putting the tiny one on my shoulder and it would hop down.
On Friday, we had Zone meeting. Elder Ingham and I gave a discussion
on Self Worth, and everyone loved it. I talked about how we each have
our own talents and our own ways to help people. It was super cool
because a whole bunch of people told us that they loved it.
Madorie Durta, our new investigator, has been progressing well.
Unfortunately, her parents have gotten spooked, so she's not allowed
to meet with us anymore. We think her parents will change their minds
again, so we are just waiting.
On Saturday, Elder Ingham and I were on exchanges together. We
attended the funeral of a sister in the stake I didn't know. It's
kinda weird to go to a funeral for someone you've never met.
Later, we visited with the Carters. Their dog, Tux, just had puppies
with the Bertoch's dog. It was super cool to get to hold them.
We had dinner with the Puccis that night and she made Chicken
Chalupas!!!! We also had a good lesson about pray and receiving a
personal witness with Tom.
Yesterday was fun, we went to the James's house and had Brazillian
food. They also showed us their pet turtle who is surprisingly fast
for a tiny one.
All in all, it was a good week. I'm not sure what else to say..... Oh
yeah! Send me emails! A reminder: I can read emails as soon as their
sent, so don't feel like I won't see yours!
Keep Hauling that water,
Elder Joseph Richardson
