Last week ended up being all about this Musical Fireside that we had yesterday.(Sunday)
It was a big deal, and featured a multi-faith Gospel choir called The Gospelites. Elder B and I ended up singing at it as well, singing a song he wrote called "Lord, What I need is you".
I also somehow got roped into singing with this choir, even though I didn't know the words, which was weird. I sang "Lean on me" and a song called "Every praise" both of which I only knew because I sat in while elder B practiced with them.
Last Tuesday was interesting, because we went over to the Henrie's for dinner and I got to try Chicago style pizza for the first time. It's actually really good and we even got to take some home.
Also, on Wednesday we got cussed out for the first time. Apparently he was asleep, though it was only 7:30pm? Idk, it was kinda weird. After that, we ended up walking to visit some members who live on our same street. Prescott is pretty beautiful at night, and it was a good walk.
Thursday morning, we went and helped set up a flea market type thing at the Arizona Pioneers home. It was pretty cool, and I got a new tie free from it. I also bought this cactus guy:
I'm still not sure what to name him, but I decided he should be my mission mascot. Get Mason or Abigail to send me some name suggestions :D
Also at that little flea market, the elderly ladies we were helping gave elder B and Elder Dill a bunch of yarn, and they plan on figuring out how to knit ties for our district.
On Saturday, I was on exchanges with Elder Amyda. He's from Micronesia, and has only been out as long as I have. Needless to say, we ended up a little lost as to what to do. It went pretty well though. We visited some less active and part-member families, and invited them to the musical fireside.
The musical fireside was pretty great. We had a lot of non members and less actives show up, and we set up a table with all sorts of pamphlets and DVDs for them to take. That's about it for today,
Keep Hauling that Water,
Elder Joseph Richardson
