Hello everyone!
This week has felt super long, which isn't helped by the fact that P-Day is Tuesday this week because of transfers. Our Zone was relatively untouched and I'm still here...... Cool, right!?!
Anyways, It was a pretty good week. Last Tuesday, we had interviews with President Griffin. He gave me a good talk about making sure I am enjoying, not just enduring my mission. We also had a good lesson with a new investigator named Kellie. It was really cool because she just soaked up the things we taught.
On Wednesday, Elder Leavitt has to go in for some medical tests. He's been having stomach issues for the past 8 months, and the medicine hasn't been able to fix it, so he went in to check some other stuff. We ended up being there a long time, and then we went and helped Sister Griffin set up her and President's new church iPhones. That was an adventure, as she had to guess some of President's passwords. That evening, we had two great lessons with Cesar and his wife, and also with an inactive family.
Thursday was crazy, but we managed to have another solid lesson with Cesar and his wife, Ledesia. We were glad we were able to show them that they could learn everything for baptism without having to wait until they have read the Book of Mormon through.
On Friday, we were in and out and everywhere. I don't even remember what specifically happened.
Saturday, I was on exchanges with Elder Owens. We did a bunch of finding all day, and didn't find much of anything. We did however, have an interesting experience with someone we tried by. We were walking by to find someone who had taken a Book of Mormon from some missionaries before, and we walked past this one house that a random guy told us we should try by. A man came out and talked to us, and he told me that I needed a haircut. I agreed, and he yelled to his wife, who was sitting in their garage, that she should come give me a haircut. She said she wasn't going to give a random haircut to some guy(me), so we left. When we walked back by, I was kind scared he was going to grab me for a haircut!
Lessee, Sunday was pretty normal. I sang in the Cactus Lane Ward Choir after only one practice. Luckily, it was a mostly unison arrangement of "The Spirit of God", so it was easy.
Yesterday, we did a bunch of random things, as we forgot about "Workday Monday" before transfers, so we hadn't set any appointments.
That's largely it, except for the ant story. To put it simply, we found out that our neighborhood may be infested with ants. A few weeks back, we found some anthills next to the cement patio in our backyard, so Elder Dennis went and bought something called diatomaceous earth. It was supposed to confuse them into thinking it was food, and then it kills all the ants in the hive when they bring it back to eat it. That apparently didn't work because more ants showed up in our pantry the other day! needless to say, we called the exterminator. Apparently, the queen ant could be anywhere on our block, so the food stuff didn't work..... We'll figure it out.
Today, we got haircuts from Sister Gee. I got a pretty short cut for the summer, so I won't get too hot. We also made Oreo Chocolate Milkshakes to celebrate another great transfer.
That's about it for today,
Keep Hauling that Water,
Elder Joseph Richardson
