My week was super fun, and I probably ate way too much candy and the like.
On Tuesday, I was on exchanges with Elder Dill. We had a lot of fun
visiting a bunch of different YSAs in the stake. We visited this
potential investigator whose house smelled like cigarettes. Turns out
his grandpa who he lives with smokes a lot! So, yeah, that was
interesting.
On Wednesday, I was on exchanges again, with Elder Bradshaw this time.
We spent the bulk of the morning at a local charity drive helping poor
families get stuff for Christmas. It was a lot of fun to see the joy
the parents had as they picked out toys and clothes for their
children.
We then spent the rest of the day going around telling people about
our new 21 day promise initiative, which I talked about last week.
Thursday was Christmas Eve! The mission made the whole of Christmas
Eve a non proselyting day, so we ended up just playing board games and
hanging out at the local institute building.
Christmas was a ton of fun! I got to Skype with my family in the
morning, then we got to spend some time with the sisters playing more
board games as well as pool and ping pong. We also got some presents
from the mission including a blanket and socks embroidered with our
mission logo.
Saturday was a bit of a cool down day after Christmas. We spent a good chunk of the day helping Sister McCombie and Sister Carroll figure out a better way to present the 21 Day Promise on paper. It took awhile, but it turned out well. We also had another lesson with Madorie, which went super well. We talked about praying, reading the scriptures, and keeping the sabbath day holy.
Sunday, a.k.a. yesterday, wasn't all that great a day. I woke up feeling kind of sick, and we ended up staying in all day. It wasn't very fun, but I got to nap, and I'm feeling much better now.
This morning, Elder Dill and Elder Ingham came over and made us breakfast. Originally, Elder Dill wanted to make me breakfast in bed, but we can't have food in our room, so I came out to eat. :P
All in all, it was a pretty good week.
Keep hauling that water,
Elder Joseph Richardson
