Hello everyone!
This week has been kind crazy!
On Tuesday, we went over to the Manley's home to help their 17 y/o son with his math class. As I've mentioned before, Elder Leavitt is a bit of a math whiz, so he did most of the helping. That night, we went on splits with our ward missionaries. I went and taught the last New Member Lesson to Elissa, who was baptized in February, while Elder Leavitt took our High Councilman over Missionary work out tracting. It was a good night.
On Wednesday, we went over to an elderly former investigator's home to help her wash her windows. I detached the screens and cleaned them with the hose while Elder Leavitt washed the windows with Windex. It was a fun little service project for us!
Thursday morning, we got to attend the temple again! It was a fun little Zone trip. We got to go to McDonald's for brunch after the 7:30 am session. Later, we had a lesson with the Wilfong's, who got baptized in March. We had a great little review lesson of the Restoration.
On Friday we had a district meeting with a theme on Scouting. We are starting an initiative to track how many hours we "scout" for new investigators this week, so we had a meeting themed after the Boy Scouts.
On Saturday, we got up early to help someone move an entire shed across town! Our whole Zone showed up, along with some members, and helped lift it into a trailer. Then we all drove to the opposite end of Surprise and lifted it out. The hard part came when we had to lift it up and over a garden wall about 7-8 feet high. That was a feat!
Sunday night, we took Cesar to a "cottage meeting" with the stake president where we had a good hour long discussion on prayer and the Book of Mormon. It was a good informal way to show him the importance of reading the scriptures!
All in all, it was a good week!
Keep Hauling that Water,
Elder Joseph Richardson
